1. Bee nests grown from saplings do not have bees in them

2. medium
priority

3. Redwood

4. To repeat, place an oak or birch sapling. Place a flower next to the sapling. Grow the sapling with bone meal. There's a 5% chance that the tree will have a bee nest on it.

5. Expected Outcome:
Bee nest should contain 1-3 bees.

6. Actual Outcome:
Empty bee nest.

7.

8. Notes (Optional):
Tried it in Singleplayer, it worked as expected.

Tree from sapling generated with a beehive on it.

There used to be a bug where if a hive was obstructed by another block while it was broken, the bees inside it would vanish, so I removed all surrounding blocks for good measure.

Picked up the nest with Silk Touch on an axe.

The new nest stacks with other empty nests, so it's definitely empty. Also tried listening for bee noises and leaving it out to see if bees would exit the nest, nothing. I've done this several times, there are never any bees.

Thanks for the report.
I researched this issue and found that there is a known bug.
Looks like the developer has indicated a patch for this that is estimated to be released tomorrow.
