Since we are a Hard Survival Server, how about a Survival-centered Event?
The core idea is an event of Perseverance in battle against Hostile Mobs. Custom islands that are overrun with different mobs that are the only things that you can get items off. Each player/team is distributed on one island, and everyone faces the same danger. The longer you stay, the (progressively) harder it gets.
Players have to survive as long as possible, and similar to raids there are small pauses inbetween waves of enemies, so everyone can catch a breath.
Top 3 Players/teams win unique rewards at the end. If players enjoy it, it can become a seasonal event, for example once every season.

otherwise this sounds too similar to a dungeon run. that said, I'm no good at pvp :P
