A bottomless bucket places infinite water. What about a bucket that absorbed infinite water? Lava could work as well :D

I don't think it really needs any trade-off, since you can get a similar effect with some stacks of buckets, 3 iron each.
Maybe using an iron ingot per use?

With the way water mechanics work...two flowing water blocks create a source block...I don't know if this would work.  How many blocks would it absorb at once?  Even the process of using sponges can be very frustrating if it's in a large area.

Hey Yaramy that is an interesting idea but we feel that sponges are a far more effiencent way of removing water, are reusable and not too difficult to obtain. With the bucket you would only be removing one source block at a time and like Mr.Magoo pointed out with the water mechanics that would be difficult to do.

Although we may not see a use for it at this time we will hold on to the idea. Keep sending us those ideas we love hearing from you!

What if every time you use the bottomless bucket it takes out just as much water as a sponge? This way it can be just as, if not more, effective than a sponge since you wouldn't have to dry out the sponge for every use. If that's too op, then coal can be used for each use to simulate drying out a sponge without the annoying wait time.
